Dottie Jean Mayo

May 22, 1941 – December 31, 2017

Dottie Jean Mayo was born in Fort Worth on May 22, 1941 to Inez and Tom Rich. She died December 31, 2017 peacefully in her sleep at her home in Fort worth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters – Wanda, Betty and Daisy; her son Quint, her daughter Sam and her great-grandson “Turbo”. She is survived by her husband Emmitt; hr daughters – Monica, Lynda, Jean and Tammy; her sons – Wayne, David and Mike; her beloved nieces, nephews and countless loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dottie was a valued and loved member of the Greater Fort Worth American Legion Auxiliary Unit 516. She volunteered many hours and days serving the mission of the American Legion Family and was a sitting officer of the unit at the time of her demise.

On Jan 13 (Saturday) – Dottie Mayo’s memorial service at Post 516 was packed to capacity overflowing into the parking lot with family and friends.

She will be missed and we were all honored to have called her family.
